At the Asian Forum, BRIN Invites International Partners to Collaborate on the Development of the PeLUIt-40 Reactor

South Tangerang - BRIN Public Relations. The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) together with several national institutions is developing the 40 MWt Industrial Heat and Power Plant Design (PeLUIT-40). Head of the Research Center for Nuclear Technology (PRTRN) - BRIN, Topan Setiadipura invites international stakeholders to work together in developing the PeLUIt-40 reactor. This was revealed while attending the South, Central, and East Asia Regional FIRST Conference on Advancing the Safe and Secure Deployment of Small Modular Reactors (SMR) in Seoul, South Korea, from June 11 to 13, 2024.

"We invite international strategic partners to collaborate in the joint development of PeLUIt-40, for design approval and or to the construction of demo plants and further commercialization," he invited.

Topan explained that the Indonesian government has established nuclear energy as part of new and renewable energy in an effort to achieve the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target by 2060. In this regard, the government has planned the commissioning and operation of the first commercial Nuclear Power Plant (PLTN) in Indonesia between 2030 - 2034.
