The Ministry of Environment (MoE) and South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) have officially authorised the Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes (ITMO) Project through Charging Infrastructure for E-mobility Promotion in Cambodia.

This project represents the first carbon mitigation initiative in Cambodia approved for the potential issuance of mitigation outcomes to be traded with Korea under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

The milestone marks a significant step forward in Cambodia’s efforts to operationalise Article 6, signalling the country’s readiness to participate in international carbon markets and opening the door to future carbon transactions that support enhanced climate action.
