Jakarta, InfoPublik – The Indonesian government, through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Highways, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), is strengthening cooperation with the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation (MOLIT) to improve the quality of asphalt pavement work and develop environmentally friendly road pavement technology. This collaboration is a strategic step that is expected to support the development of road infrastructure in Indonesia.
The Director General (Dirjen) of Highways PUPR, Rachman Arief Dienaputra, stated that collaboration is very important in facing the vast challenges of road construction in Indonesia. “As a country with an extensive national road network, the need for high quality asphalt pavement is very important. "Implementing asphalt pavement technology that is more environmentally friendly is an urgent need that must be responded to immediately," said Rachman Arief at the Indonesia - Korea Technical Exchange Seminar 2024 which took place at the PUPR Ministry Auditorium, Wednesday (7/8/2024).
In a press statement received by InfoPublik on Thursday (8/8/2024), Rachman emphasized that the use of technology in asphalt pavement will not only improve road quality, but also make a positive contribution to the environment. With a quality management system that uses a digital platform, the Directorate General of Highways can monitor and control work processes more effectively and efficiently.
