The Philippines has joined forces with the Korean government to advance digital transformation and innovation, as announced by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) on Friday. This collaboration began with the inaugural meeting of the Korean-Philippine Economic Innovation Partnership Programme (EIPP), held on January 16 at the New World Hotel in Makati City. The event was organised by NEDA in partnership with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
At the meeting, NEDA outlined plans for three significant digital infrastructure projects that will be developed under the EIPP. These projects are intended to enhance the Philippines’ information and communications technology (ICT) landscape, providing a foundation for sustained innovation and technological growth in the country. These initiatives are expected to have a transformative impact on the digital economy.
One of the primary initiatives of the partnership is the formulation of the National Communications Satellite Roadmap for the Philippines. This project aims to create a comprehensive framework for the development of the telecommunications satellite sector in the country.
