Jakarta, September 7, 2025 – The National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN) and Korea’s Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI) are further strengthening their strategic cooperation to enhance the governance of Indonesia’s research and innovation ecosystem. Through the 2025 K-Innovation Partnership Program (KIPP), the two institutions are organizing a series of activities under the theme “Strengthening Indonesia’s Research and Innovation Ecosystem: Funding, Infrastructure, and Technology Foresight for Sustainable Growth”, taking place on September 8–12, 2025, in Jakarta and Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

BRIN’s Deputy for Research and Innovation Policy, Boediastoeti Ontowirjo, stated that this collaboration is a concrete effort to reinforce the foundation of Indonesia’s research and innovation ecosystem through international learning and cooperation.
“This program provides a platform to strengthen national research and innovation policies. We are learning from South Korea’s experience in developing effective research funding and infrastructure systems, as well as anticipating future technological developments,” said Boediastoeti.
