The head of the Research Center for Sustainable Production Systems and Life Cycle Assessment (PRSPBPDH) of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Nugroho Adi Sasongko, invited participants to explore and identify concrete areas of research synergy in the management and utilization of biomass waste. This aims to realize a circular and sustainable economy.
“BRIN is open and fully committed to exploring collaborative research opportunities in the field of waste utilization, and we welcome any initiative that can produce impactful and reciprocal benefits,” he stated during a seminar titled Sustainable Waste Valorization and Economic Feasibility held online on Tuesday (April 29).
He mentioned that there are many uses for palm oil biomass; fresh fruit bunches can be used as mulch, while palm fiber and kernel shells are utilized to generate electricity and steam.
