Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia has entered a new chapter as a global player in the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem through the inauguration of the battery and electric vehicle ecosystem in the country, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated.

"Today, we have started a new chapter in our milestone to become a global player in the EV and battery cell ecosystem," he remarked at the inauguration of the South Korean battery and electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia at PT Hyundai LG Indonesia (HLI) Green Power, Karawang, West Java, on Wednesday.

According to Jokowi, Indonesia has abundant natural resources that were only exported as raw materials with no added value.
