Jakarta – BRIN Public Relations. The National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN), together with Korea’s Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI), organized The 2nd Policy School on Technology Forecasting and Policy-Making to strengthen foresight capacity in Indonesia. The program aims to better equip policymakers in planning future directions for research and innovation that can address national development challenges. This initiative is part of the K-Innovation Partnership Program, carried out through BRIN’s Deputy for Research and Innovation Policy (DKRI) in collaboration with STEPI Korea, and was held at BRIN’s B.J. Habibie Building, Jakarta, on Monday (September 8).
Dr. Ir. Boediastoeti Ontowirjo, Deputy for Research and Innovation Policy at BRIN, underlined the importance of this collaboration in building a stronger national research and innovation ecosystem.
“BRIN believes that a nation’s progress depends greatly on strong, forward-looking policies in science, technology, and innovation. Through close cooperation with STEPI and KISTEP in Korea, we can strengthen Indonesia’s research and innovation ecosystem—covering policy, funding, infrastructure, and human resource development. This Policy School is a concrete example of international collaboration, equipping researchers and policymakers with foresight skills so that Indonesia can formulate evidence-based policies, anticipate risks, and seize opportunities toward a knowledge-based economy,” she emphasized.
