Jakarta – BRIN Public Relations. The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is finalizing preparations for the launch of the ASEAN–Korea High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure, located at the Cibinong Science and Technology Park in Bogor. With construction nearly complete and the system approaching operational readiness, the launch is expected to mark a major step forward in strengthening the region’s research and innovation ecosystem, as well as its digital transformation—particularly in big data processing and artificial intelligence (AI).

Deputy for Research and Innovation Policy (KRI) at BRIN, Boediastuti Ontowirjo, stated that the project represents an important milestone in ASEAN’s collective efforts toward digital integration and technological advancement. “We are not only building a high-performance computing system, but also laying the foundation for ASEAN’s future in data science and artificial intelligence,” she said while opening the second Steering Committee meeting titled “Building High Performance Computing (HPC) Infrastructure and HPC Capacity for ASEAN Data Utilization” at the B.J. Habibie Building in Jakarta on Thursday (April 23).
