BRIN–KAERI Collaborate on Radioactivity Monitoring and Nuclear Emergency Preparedness

Tangerang Selatan – BRIN Public Relations. The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), through its Research Center for Nuclear Safety Technology, Metrology, and Quality (PRTKMMN), together with the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI), held a Pre-Feasibility Study activity for the development of South Korea’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) cooperation on Wednesday (11/02).

The activity took place at the TMC Building and the G.A. Siwabessy Research Reactor facility, B.J. Habibie Science and Technology Area (KST), Serpong. It aims to strengthen Indonesia’s capacity in environmental radioactivity monitoring and nuclear emergency preparedness, in line with the plan to build Indonesia’s first Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).

Head of PRTKMMN BRIN, Heru Prasetio, stated that strengthening nuclear safety research is part of the national energy development strategy.
