ASEAN-ROK STI Award 2026 Opens Applications

The ASEAN-ROK STI Award 2026 is now open for applications, recognising young researchers and professionals who contribute to science, technology and engineering in ASEAN. This year, the award offers two distinctions: Next ASEAN Innovator and ASEAN-ROK STI Pioneer.

The Next ASEAN Innovator category is open to ASEAN citizens with less than five years of professional experience after completing a Ph.D. The ASEAN-ROK STI Pioneer category focuses on ASEAN citizens who are currently pursuing, or have recently completed, a doctoral programme in Korea, as well as those with significant research collaboration experience with Korea.

The winner of each category will receive a US$12,000 cash prize, a Minister Award from the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), and an invitation to attend the ASEAN-ROK STI Training Programme in Korea, with airfare and accommodation provided.

Applications should be submitted to STEPI by 31 August 2026.
