Bandung–BRIN Public Relations. The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) through the Electronics and Informatics Research Organization (OREI) has officially collaborated with ISOL Technology Inc. from South Korea in the development of a 0.6 Tesla MRI device. The signing of the cooperation was carried out in Seongnam City, South Korea, on Monday (9/12). This project aims to create medical imaging technology that is more affordable, easy to operate and saves maintenance, especially for regional health facilities.
Head of OREI BRIN, Dr. Eng. Budi Prawara, expressed great hopes for this collaboration. “Through the BRIN-ISOL Technology Inc. Co-Development program, we hope to present MRI research products that are helium-free, affordable and easy to use. "Apart from that, this program is expected to increase the capacity of researchers in mastering electromagnetic-based imaging technology," he said.
Meanwhile, CEO of ISOL Technology Inc., Dr. Lee, emphasized the importance of this cooperation in supporting the Domestic Component Level (TKDN). “We developed the 0.6T MRI with superconducting magnet technology and AI, and produced the main components locally. "If this collaboration runs closely, the goals of this project can be achieved perfectly," he said.
