Indonesia and the Republic of Korea Set to Launch High-Performance Computing Facility to Support Data Utilization Across ASEAN

Jakarta, June 17, 2026 – Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Arif Satria, stated that the inauguration of this advanced computing infrastructure marks a significant step forward in data governance and utilization across Southeast Asia. The initiative is part of the Korea–ASEAN Digital Innovation Flagship Project (KADIF), with a total investment of USD 10 million over four years (2024–2028) through the ASEAN–Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF).

“This inauguration marks the beginning of the implementation of the ASEAN–Korea collaborative project. We are building a strong foundation for ASEAN’s future in artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced digital technologies. This HPC facility is designed to support broad utilization and foster collaborative initiatives and activities among ASEAN Member States,” he said.
