11th ISFM Strengthens Collaboration in Functional Materials Research

Yogyakarta – BRIN Public Relations. Advances in functional materials are creating opportunities to apply advanced materials to develop more efficient and environmentally friendly technologies across various sectors, including energy, electronics, sensors, catalysis, defense technology, and sustainable manufacturing. These developments were discussed at the 11th International Symposium on Functional Materials (ISFM), organized by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in Yogyakarta from 4–7 August 2026.

Murni Handayani, Head of the BRIN Research Center for Nanotechnology Systems (PRSN), said that ISFM is a biennial international forum that provides a platform for exchanging knowledge on innovations, cutting-edge findings, and emerging trends in multidisciplinary research on functional materials.
