BRIN Strengthens Cooperation on Smart Farm Technology Patents

Jakarta – BRIN Public Relations. The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is strengthening international cooperation with the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) through a patent-based research and development initiative in the field of smart farm technology. This collaboration focuses on utilizing patent data as a scientific foundation for research and technological development, particularly to support national agricultural modernization and the advancement of green industries.

The agreement was affirmed during the “IP Sharing Patent Strategy Seminar in Indonesia – Green Innovation and Patents in Korea: Impacts on Sustainable Industry Systems”, held at the BJ Habibie Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday (October 8). The seminar is part of a collaborative project between KIPA, BRIN, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), and UNIS, aimed at strengthening research capacity and intellectual property management in the field of sustainable innovation.

The Head of BRIN’s Research Center for Sustainable Production Systems and Life Cycle Assessment, Nugroho Adi Sasongko, emphasized that patents are a strategic element in building a competitive and resilient research ecosystem.
